The October 21 teaser reveals the voices of Kuroko Koumori, Hinako Tozakura and Chiyo Yanaoka for the first time. Hitomi Ueda, Minori Suzuki and Sumire Uesaka play the three characters respectively. New promotional artwork and character designs accompany the video.
Murciélago follows a killer hunting criminals
Murciélago centres on Kuroko, a murderer who was sentenced to death. Instead of being executed, she receives state authorisation to eliminate dangerous criminals. Its protagonist is therefore a killer herself, taking on assignments that draw her into violent confrontations.
Her partner Hinako also serves as her minder. Hinako combines exceptional driving with route-finding skills, and her innocent appearance does not stop her from facing dangerous offenders. Their partnership provides the basis for the story’s pursuits and cases.
Kuroko and the two women beside her
She has little regard for morality and flirts with women even while on assignments. Hitomi Ueda voices a character.
Minori Suzuki plays the more carefree Hinako, who is particularly fond of Kuroko’s cooking. Their relationship extends beyond assignments, with everyday interactions appearing alongside dangerous situations.
Sumire Uesaka voices Chiyo, Kuroko’s girlfriend and the daughter of the head of the Yanaoka-kai yakuza group. Outspoken and quick-tempered, she frequently gets angry at Kuroko’s wandering eye.
A new teaser ahead of January 2027
The teaser introduces the elimination assignments coming Kuroko’s way. Viewers can hear all three characters in the official video, rather than only seeing their promotional designs.
The anime adapts Kana Yoshimura’s manga, serialised in Square Enix’s Young Gangan magazine. Satelight and Staple Entertainment handle animation, with Takashi Naoya serving as chief director and series composition writer, and Matsuo Asami directing.
Broadcast and streaming are scheduled to begin in January 2027. That window was announced at Anime NYC in August, while the October 21 update focuses on the teaser and characters. The anime’s website has not yet announced the premiere date or a viewing platform for Vietnam.
