What is Peak?

Peak is a co-op game for up to four players, made jointly by two studios, Aggro Crab (United States) and Landfall (Sweden), together called Team Peak. You play solo or with three friends as a group of "nature scouts" lost on a mysterious island who must climb the mountain in its center. One wrong step can mean a fatal fall, so the group has to find food (some of it questionable), place ropes and pitons so those behind climb more easily, and never leave a friend in trouble. Injuries lower stamina so climbing gets harder, and the fog is a threat too. According to the PlayStation Blog post, the dangers include tornadoes, toxic clouds, birds and even zombies.

Peak began as a month-long game jam in Seoul in February 2025, when three Aggro Crab developers and four from Landfall rented an apartment together to make a game. The game launched on PC on June 16, 2025.

What does the console version include?

According to a post by Hanna Fogelberg, head of community at Evil Landfall, the PS5 version includes all the content, biomes and new items released since the game launched. The team's Steam announcement on October 16 (Vietnam time) says the game also arrives on Xbox and Switch 2 the next week, and that the console versions have crossplay: players on different platforms can join the same group. The PC version has also gained a room code in recent patches.

The PS5 physical edition is published by Skybound, can be pre-ordered and ships later this year. It includes the base game, a BUDDY CODE and a printed passport with stickers for customizing characters in real life. The PlayStation Blog post does not give the console price, whether PS Plus is needed or the age rating, so check each console's store page as October 22 approaches.

What has changed since launch?

Since 2025 the team has kept updating Peak on PC. The main milestones are:

  • August 11, 2025, "The Mesa": a new biome that rotates randomly with an older one, 10 badges and items such as balloons, a scout cannon and a parasol.
  • March 30, 2026 (UTC), "The Play It Your Way Update": Custom Runs to adjust difficulty, hazards and items, Mini Runs that play a single biome, and campfire autosaves to resume from the nearest campfire.
  • August 11, 2026, "The Final Ascent": new variant biomes GLOOM and THE CITADEL, Ascent 8, 10 new badges and items such as a jetpack, a warp fungus and a glider.

The Steam page says the game has four biomes, each with its own obstacles. The map changes every 24 hours, so each day is a new island. According to the PlayStation Blog post, the PS5 version has all of this content.

What should players in Vietnam know?

The PC version on Steam costs 99,000 dong (read on October 18, 2026) and has no Vietnamese, only 15 languages such as English, Japanese, Korean, Chinese and Russian. On the same day Steam showed about 94% of 380,266 reviews as positive. The console price in Vietnam is not stated, because the PlayStation Blog gives no price. Peak's multiplayer is friends-only with proximity chat (voice that fades with distance), so you need at least one friend on the same platform, or on a crossplay platform, to form a group.
