Overview
Kanojo, Okarishimasu 5 (Rent-a-Girlfriend Season 5) adapts Reiji Miyajima's manga as a 12-episode ONA produced by TMS Entertainment, released from 8/4/2026. Kazuya Kinoshita and his rental girlfriend Chizuru Ichinose are on his family's spa resort trip, and he has been unable to take the relationship any further.
OtaHub's take
After receiving mixed signals from Chizuru, Kazuya decides to end the facade once back in Tokyo, while his ex-girlfriend Mami Nanami is willing to do anything to break that pretense. The genres are comedy and romance. Kazuomi Koga directs, Mitsutaka Hirota handles series composition, and season 6 is on record as the follow-up.
Verdict
It suits viewers who have followed the earlier seasons and want to see where this chain of romantic misunderstandings goes, but season 5 is not a place to start. Rewatch from the first season, or at least season 4.
