Overview
Vagabond adapts Eiji Yoshikawa's classic novel, tracing Shinmen Takezo's evolution from a feral outlaw into the enlightened sword master Miyamoto Musashi.
OtaHub's take
Takehiko Inoue's traditional ink-brush illustrations stand as an unmatched pinnacle of comic draftsmanship, conveying raw emotion and philosophical weight in every stroke.
The narrative transcends martial arts to explore the illusion of invincibility, spirituality, and the true cost of mastery.
While the series remains on long-term hiatus, its published body of work stands as an untouchable monument of visual literature.
Verdict
A transcendent achievement in sequential art and the definitive samurai epic.
