Housemarque released the Zenith update for Saros on PS5 on October 19, 2026. It is free for existing owners, with additions for players who have finished their journey through Carcosa as well as those who need more help with combat.
Replay with tougher rules you choose
Eclipse Layers is the New Game+ mode unlocked after completing Saros. Players return to Passage and use new nodes in the Armor Matrix upgrade system to enter runs with altered rules.
Before starting, players must select enough difficulty-increasing conditions to meet the required threshold. They can choose which disadvantages to accept, but cannot remove every challenge before advancing. Different combinations can interact, making the selection an important part of preparing for a run.
Taking on more Trials also makes Arjun’s Crown larger. Higher Crown levels reveal additional story text in the 12 Visions, murals and messages etched into stone across Carcosa.

Fight consecutive bosses in Overlord Rush
Overlord Rush is a training simulation accessed through the Primary Unit at Passage. It sends players through a sequence of bosses from the main game, with the aim of finishing quickly.
Incursion and Ascension each feature three bosses. Totality lines up all eight in one continuous gauntlet. The global leaderboard can be filtered by Main Weapon, allowing comparisons with players using the same weapon type.
Online competition requires an internet connection and a PlayStation account.
New difficulty settings and more control options
Zenith adds 10 Protection Modifiers to make the game more forgiving and 10 Trial Modifiers to increase the challenge. Hostile Regeneration, for example, lets larger enemies recover after being staggered by gunfire, requiring a melee strike to finish them.
Slow Game Speed gives players more time to react without removing attacks or reducing projectiles. Players can adjust the slowdown and choose whether it activates automatically during combat or through a manual toggle.
Auto-fire shoots while aiming at a hostile, reducing the number of inputs needed while moving and dodging. Reloading still requires manual input. Motion Sensor Aiming provides another way to customise the controls.
