Konami will release Castlevania: Belmont's Curse on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC and Nintendo Switch on October 15, 2026.
Reviews ahead of launch praise combat and exploration but disagree over the challenge. Game Informer awards 9.25/10 and considers the action a strength, while RPG Site gives 8/10 but finds the beginning too punishing and the later game too easy.

What conflict does Belmont's Curse follow?
The setting is Paris in 1499, as monsters attack the city. Rose Belmont enters the conflict alongside her father Trevor and uses the Vampire Killer whip against enemies. The publisher’s Nintendo description also presents the whip as a tool for moving through exploration areas.
Arcana is a notable system. Defeated bosses are sealed into Rose’s tarot cards, supplying powers for spells or special actions. Finding and fighting bosses therefore connects to acquiring tools, alongside choices of weapons and equipment.
What does Game Informer praise?
In his Xbox Series X/S review, Charles Harte praises how cards unlock spells and objectives for upgrading them. Those objectives encourage using abilities that could otherwise be overlooked among the many available options.
Harte also likes the flexible combat and returning to earlier areas with new movement abilities to uncover secrets. His playthrough reached 92% completion after 16 hours. That is the experience described in this review, not a promise that everyone will finish the game in 16 hours.
Why does RPG Site question the difficulty?
RPG Site’s Junior Miyai finds the early game frustrating because enemies can adjust their aim as the player moves. Jumping too early may still result in a hit, requiring more precise timing or a parry.
In the second half, Miyai instead finds some combinations of weapons, equipment and defensive spells too powerful. He praises the artwork and music but feels the challenge falls too sharply. The contrast with Game Informer concerns combat pacing and later tools, rather than merely the difference between 8 and 9.25.
How should readers interpret the scores?
These ratings belong to individual reviews with different players and testing scopes. They identify questions worth considering but do not establish equal performance across platforms. This article does not combine them into an OtaHub score.
For exploration and revisiting areas with new abilities, Game Informer explains the appeal. For difficulty and evasion, RPG Site describes reservations through specific encounters. Nintendo confirms an October 15, 2026 Switch release, but an Xbox assessment cannot establish how the Switch version runs.
