Overview
Castlevania: Belmont's Curse is an exploration-focused 2D action game published by Konami and developed by Evil Empire, with Motion Twin (the Dead Cells team) also involved, according to RPG Site. It is set in Paris in 1499, twenty-three years after Castlevania III. Rose Belmont, Trevor's daughter, wields the sacred whip Vampire Killer.

The game launches on October 15, 2026 on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC and Nintendo Switch. Nintendo's page lists the US Switch price as $29.99. The Midnight Edition adds a sound and art gallery (71 tracks), two costumes and a Family Portrait item, and pre-orders get the Alucard Style costume.
On reviews, Metacritic shows 86 (44 reviews, PS5) and 85 (15 reviews, PC), and OpenCritic averages 85 with 97% of critics recommending it, according to Gamer Fuzion's roundup on October 13. GameSpot scored it 10, Game Informer 9.25, IGN 8 and RPG Site 8, while VGC gave 3 out of 5 and Push Square 7 per Metacritic.
Verdict
it suits people who like metroidvanias with fast combat and many bosses. The drawbacks mentioned are uneven difficulty (RPG Site) and a faded Castlevania identity (IGN, per Vice).
