Overview
Chained Soldier (Mato Seihei no Slave) adapts the manga by Takahiro (story) and Yohei Takemura (art), serialized on Shueisha's Shonen Jump+ since January 2019. In its world, gates suddenly link Japan to Mato, a dimension full of monsters called Shuuki, where strange peaches grant powers only to women. High schooler Yuuki Wakura wanders in and is turned into a warrior serving Kyouka Uzen, captain of the 7th Unit of the anti-demon force, through her Slave ability.
OtaHub's take
Season 1 ran for 12 episodes produced by Seven Arcs, airing from January to March 2024. Season 2 premiered on 8 January 2026 with 12 episodes on Tokyo MX, BS Asahi, MBS and AT-X, moving to Passione and Hayabusa Film, directed by Masafumi Tamura with character designs by Keiya Nakano. Internationally, HIDIVE streams both seasons with an English dub. The series is known for the “reward” Kyouka must give Yuuki after every battle, the source of most of its comedy and fanservice.
At an event for season 2 held at The Garden Hall in Ebisu, Tokyo on 2 August 2026, the producers confirmed Season 3 along with a new key visual and a short PV. The announcement named no studio, director, platform or air date; OtaHub considers it unlikely the new season airs before 2027. Beneath the fanservice, Chained Soldier keeps Yuuki's growth at its core, from a student with no place of his own to someone who finds a role in an all-female unit.
Verdict
Chained Soldier suits viewers who enjoy fantasy action mixed with harem elements and heavy fanservice, and who accept adult content as part of the series' identity. Those looking for a purely serious story may come away unsatisfied, but manga fans will have more reason to tune in once season 3 announces its schedule.
