The TV series aired from 9/10/2012 to 25/3/2013 with 12 episodes plus 2 recap episodes. OtaHub's take
The story follows schoolgirls who take part in Senshado, a sport played with real tanks. The franchise also has several side-story manga. On the game side, Dream Tank Match came out on PS4 (Japan and Southeast Asia, February 2018, with English text in Southeast Asia), followed by Dream Tank Match DX on Switch (February 2019).
In October 2026, the franchise revealed two new game projects. Girls und Panzer: All-Star Tank Carnival is made by D3Publisher for Switch 2 and is due in 2027 in Japan, from the same team as Dream Tank Match. Girls und Panzer: Bokosuka Rush is made by G Holdings for smartphones, set in the Boko museum from the film, with no release date yet.
Verdict
It suits fans of fast school sports anime, especially anyone who likes tanks. To start, watch the 12-episode TV series, then the film. For the two new games, wait for more news on languages and regions, since the Switch 2 game has so far been mentioned for Japan only.
