Overview
Kaya-chan wa Kowakunai, known in English as Kaya-chan Isn't Scary, is a 12-episode TV anime from East Fish Studio that began airing on 11/1/2026. It adapts the manga by Tarou Yuri, directed by Hiroshi Ikehata with series composition by Shigeru Murakoshi. The genre combines comedy, horror, slice of life and the supernatural.

Kaya-chan attends Hanamugi Kindergarten and has an incredibly strong sixth sense. She secretly beats up the ghosts that stalk her friends and family, but since nobody understands her strange behavior, she is treated like a troublemaker. Everything changes when her teacher, Chie, discovers her secret, and Kaya-chan's fists will fly at any sinister spirit that shows up.
Verdict
A fit for viewers who like quirky supernatural comedy, mild horror and a tiny but fierce protagonist. This is the first season and the data lists no prequel, so you can start from episode one.
