Overview
Oni no Hanayome (known in English as The Ogre's Bride) is a Japanese-style ayakashi Cinderella story in which ayakashi and humans coexist in harmony. The ayakashi, with superior abilities and beautiful appearances, sometimes take human women as brides, and in exchange for bringing prosperity the bride receives absolute love. Yuzu is constantly compared to her sister, the bride of a demon fox, and is resented by her family.
OtaHub's take
One day, when she cannot take it any longer, she meets a man on a bridge, the most beautiful she has ever seen, who calls her the bride he has been searching for all this time. It is adapted from Kureha's light novel, produced by Colored Pencil Animation Japan, directed by Katsuhito Oomiya, runs 12 episodes, and began airing on 4/7/2026, in drama, fantasy, and romance.
Verdict
It suits viewers who like Japanese-style romantic fantasy, a neglected heroine who is cherished, and a slower narrative rhythm. According to the available data, nothing needs to be watched first.
