Overview
Steins;Gate Re:Boot is a remake of the 2009 visual novel Steins;Gate, part of the Science Adventure series. According to the Steam page, MAGES. Inc. develops it and Spike Chunsoft publishes. The official description calls it a true reboot with new visuals and UI plus an additional original scenario set in Akihabara. Spike Chunsoft adds that it includes new music and a "Gamma Worldline" route.

The story follows Rintaro Okabe and a group of student friends whose invention can send messages to the past. The game has multiple endings depending on player choices, with an estimated playtime of 30 to 50 hours per the Steam page. Text is available in Japanese, English, Simplified Chinese and Traditional Chinese; voice is Japanese only, and the original cast re-recorded all lines.
On dates, Spike Chunsoft lists Steam and Xbox Series X|S on 20/8/2026 worldwide, and Switch 2, Switch and PS5 on 29/10/2026 in North America and Europe. The Steam page shows 19/8 (possibly a time zone effect). Steam offers Standard and Digital Deluxe editions (with the soundtrack, a Visual Collection and the STEINS;GATE 15th LIVE ONE WORLD event), while per-platform USD prices could not be confirmed by OtaHub from an official page.
Verdict
A good fit for existing fans who want to revisit the story with new visuals and an extra route, or newcomers who like time-travel stories and do not mind reading a lot. Console players wait until 29/10/2026.
