CyberAgent confirmed on June 30, 2026 that its in-house anime studio CA Soa is producing a TV anime adaptation of Mozuku Sora and Higoro Tomori's manga The Bugle Call: Song of War (Senso Kyoshitsu), set to premiere in 2027, alongside a first teaser trailer and visual.

Shinya Watada is directing at CA Soa, Michiro Tsuchiya is handling the series scripts, Michinori Chiba is designing the characters, and Hitomi Koto is composing the music. Hiroshi Arisawa is the action animator, Kanetake Ebikawa is credited for concept design, and Takayuki Yanase is designing the props. CG for the action and combat sequences is being handled by acclaimed visual effects studio Shirogumi. This marks the first production from CA Soa, a new animation studio established by the CyberAgent Group in January 2025 and headed by producer Masakazu Ogawa.
The story is set in Arboral Year 1294, in a world dominated by nine massive towers known as the Spires, remnants of an advanced civilization filled with secrets and power that rival nations are fighting to control. Luca is a bugler in a mercenary company who wants nothing more than to leave the battlefield and become a true musician. Marked as one of the mysterious Branch-hexed and gifted with the ability to see the sound of his instrument, Luca is drawn into a war of epic proportions. Left for dead after a battle, he is saved by the enigmatic Pontiff and learns he isn't the only person with unusual powers.
The manga launched in Shueisha's Jump SQ. magazine in June 2022 and moved to the seasonal Jump SQ. RISE in April 2026. Volume 13 shipped on February 4, 2026, and Shueisha stated last September that the story was heading toward its "final battle." Viz Media publishes the series in English, with volume 6 released on April 7. You can find more on our latest news and Anime pages.
