After a two-month hiatus, Boruto: Two Blue Vortex officially returns with Chapter 37, and it may be the chapter that marks the clearest step forward yet for Sarada Uchiha’s Mangekyo Sharingan abilities — along with a reminder that this power has never come for free.
The Black Hole Power Called Ohirume

Sarada awakened her Mangekyo Sharingan during the Two Blue Vortex storyline, gaining a unique ability called Ohirume, first revealed in Chapter 20. Ohirume lets her summon up to four black holes of adjustable size, choose which objects are affected by their pull and control their strength at will. Notably, the ability can also affect Sarada’s own body: by positioning four black holes in a balanced arrangement, she can make herself float in midair.
A Small Signal, a Big Victory
- A new use in Chapter 37: facing Hidari and Code, Sarada shrinks a black hole down to a tiny size and attaches it to her earring, turning it into a signal for Boruto — showing that Ohirume isn’t just an offensive weapon but can also be used for marking and communication
- A notable victory: in a parallel development, Sarada also defeats Ryu in the Land of Wind, an opponent considered even more dangerous than Code, further showing that her power has reached a new level
- Many unknowns remain: Ohirume is only one of the two Mangekyo abilities Sarada possesses; the other has yet to be revealed, and Susanoo, the signature armor of the Uchiha clan, hasn’t appeared either
The Price: Her Eyes Are Fading
But every power has its price. Since Chapter 34, Sakura has noticed her daughter’s eyesight declining abnormally, a direct consequence of using the Mangekyo Sharingan. It’s a familiar side effect throughout the Naruto universe: the more it’s used, the weaker the eyes become, and without proper control, the user can go permanently blind depending on the techniques and how often they’re used. For Sarada, the challenge now isn’t just refining her new power, but also finding a way to limit the price that power is making her pay.
The Road Ahead: Standing Alongside Uchiha Legends?
If she fully masters her Mangekyo Sharingan, including the hidden second ability and the yet-to-appear Susanoo, Sarada could well rank alongside the most iconic wielders of these eyes: Madara, Itachi, Obito, or her own father, Sasuke. It’s also a logical step for a character who dreams of becoming Hokage in the future of Boruto: Two Blue Vortex — as long as she finds a way to control the price the Mangekyo Sharingan demands.
