Free Fire: Daybreak is the official animated adaptation of Garena's battle-royale game. Garena and KADOKAWA confirmed the title, released a promotional trailer and scheduled the series for a worldwide premiere in spring 2027, including a Japanese broadcast.
The anime is not a direct recording of a battle-royale match. It uses familiar Free Fire characters and concepts to tell a scripted story set in the futuristic metropolis of New Dawn.

What is Free Fire: Daybreak about?
The story follows Kelly, who wakes without memories of her past. Her search for answers pulls her toward Horizon Corporation and its secretive “Project Bloom,” connecting her lost identity to a larger conflict within New Dawn.
Kelly awakens an ability called Limit Break, described as a power capable of unlocking things that have been sealed away. The premise turns recognizable game characters into the leads of a superpowered action story centered on truth, friendship and the future of the city.
Which Free Fire characters appear?
The announced central group includes Kelly, Hayato and Moco. Kelly occupies the center of the key visual, while reflected fragments hint at different sides of her identity and the effects of Project Bloom.
Hayato and Moco are established characters in the game, but the anime can expand their relationships beyond match-based biographies. Garena has not yet published a complete cast list, so additional appearances should remain unconfirmed until they are announced by the project.
Anime production staff
Garena and KADOKAWA are co-producing the adaptation through a joint investment. Studio CANDYBOX is responsible for animation production, with Ken Takahashi directing. Hotaru Asafuji handles series composition and screenplay, while Kouji Fujimoto of Sus4 Inc. composes the music.
The trailer uses the game as visual inspiration while presenting an original anime production. That distinction matters because gameplay trailers, anniversary cinematics and the television project may use different animation teams.
When will Free Fire: Daybreak premiere?
The confirmed window is spring 2027. Garena has not announced an exact first-episode date or a complete platform list. “Worldwide” confirms international distribution plans, but it does not mean every country will use the same streaming service.
Viewers should wait for Garena, KADOKAWA or a licensed regional platform to publish availability. Unofficial countdowns and precise dates circulating before that announcement should be treated as speculation.
How closely will it follow the game?
Daybreak uses Free Fire's characters and world-building, but its memory-loss mystery and Project Bloom storyline give it a defined narrative. That structure should make the series accessible to viewers who have never played the game while offering recognizable details for existing players.
The official announcement does not yet specify the episode count or whether the story will adapt particular in-game events. Those details can only be confirmed when a broadcast schedule or further production materials are released.
