Overview
Free Fire Daybreak is an anime inspired by Free Fire, Garena's mobile battle royale game released in 2017. Garena and KADOKAWA are co-investing, with a worldwide broadcast and stream, including Japan, planned for spring 2027. The title, first key visual and trailer have been revealed; the exact air date, episode count and regional platforms have not.
OtaHub's take
The anime builds its own story, set in the futuristic city of New Dawn. Protagonist Kelly, 16, wakes with no memory of her past and is drawn into Horizon Corporation's "Project Bloom", gaining a "Limit Break" ability that unlocks sealed things. The key visual presents the trio Kelly, Hayato and Moco; per the producers, she and new allies uncover the conspiracy around Horizon.
Studio CANDYBOX is producing, Ken Takahashi directs, Hotaru Asafuji handles series composition and screenplay, and Kouji Fujimoto (Sus4 Inc.) composes the music. The voice cast and regional distributors do not appear in the sources OtaHub read.
Verdict
This is Garena's attempt to turn game characters into a story with depth. Free Fire fans should follow it, while pure anime viewers should wait for the first episode before deciding. Any judgment on quality is premature since the show has not aired.
