If you already play FC 26, compare the changes in your favorite modes and the limits of FC 27 Lite and EA Play before paying for an upgrade.

If you still play FC 26, the case for buying FC 27 depends on the modes you want and the changes you actually need. The free Lite version offers a selection of modes, while EA Play has a 10-hour trial to help you decide before buying the full game.

OtaHub has not played FC 27 firsthand. This article compares EA's announced features, Steam purchase options and a few player opinions, so it does not rate the match experience or claim the new game is better than FC 26. The useful question is what you miss in the old game and whether FC 27 offers it.

What does FC 27 offer players coming from FC 26?

EA says the new game adjusts corners, attacking awareness and defending to make matches more fluid and closer to real football. That is the publisher's description. To find out whether passing, dribbling and player responses suit your style, you need to try them.

Career Mode, where you manage a club or follow a player's career, gets a rebuilt transfer market using player valuations from TransferRoom. EA also lists performance and buy-back clauses, along with overall ratings that change with form, morale and fitness. If Career is your main reason to play FC 26, check whether those management changes address something you want improved.

Ultimate Team, the mode built around assembling a squad from player cards, adds FUT Gallery for collecting card sets and raising your gallery level. The Grounds offers a social football space with casual matches, one-on-one games and activities with friends. EA lists that mode for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC and Switch 2, so check the edition on your platform before buying.

What do Standard and Ultimate include?

The Steam Vietnam prices recorded on October 19, 2026 are 1,299,000 dong for Standard and 1,799,000 dong for Ultimate. The extra 500,000 dong pays for additional items; Ultimate is not required to access the main modes in the full game.

Ultimate includes 6,000 FC Points distributed over three months, subject to EA's redemption conditions and deadlines, plus an extra player Evolution slot for Ultimate Team. It also adds staff and ICON or Heroes legends for Career, plus items for The Grounds. Since the extras span several modes, compare them with what you expect to use rather than assuming the whole bundle is essential.

FC Points are virtual currency sold separately, and Steam notes that the game includes random items obtainable with virtual currency. If you mainly want Career or matches with friends, separate the game purchase from that optional spending. More bundled points do not automatically make an edition better value for you.

What can you try with FC 27 Lite and EA Play?

FC 27 Lite is free to download on Steam. It includes Kick-Off matches with a selection of clubs, tutorials, online friendlies and Online Seasons. That makes it a place to start if you want to test the controls or play a few matches with friends before spending money.

Lite does not unlock Ultimate Team, Career or The Grounds. Progress carries over when you upgrade on the same platform and EA account, but enjoying matches in Lite will not tell you whether you like managing a club or pursuing rewards in the locked modes.

EA Play members can try the Standard Edition for up to 10 hours. EA's page advertises $5.99 a month, which is a US-dollar reference price rather than a Vietnamese subscription price. Check the charge, supported platform and plan conditions where you subscribe. A timed trial is also different from unrestricted access to the full new release.

Ten hours can help you check how a mode works and how the game runs on your machine. It is less useful for judging how a whole season of cards and rewards will feel. If weekly commitments wore you down in the previous game, consider that pattern alongside your first few matches.

How useful are player opinions?

The linked r/EAFC discussion mixes an account of Rivals in FC 26 with impressions from the FC 27 beta. Those experiences come from different versions and points in development, so they cannot be combined into a verdict on the released FC 27.

Some commenters still enjoy Career or playing with friends. Others describe fatigue from repeated promotional player cards and the pressure to keep up with weekly rewards. These illustrate different needs; they do not establish that Career players are generally happy or Ultimate Team players generally disappointed.

The practical lesson is to identify your own reason for upgrading. Career changes matter more to a club-management player than bundled FC Points. For online players, the modes and friends they plan to play with may matter more. One person's purchase decision should not become advice for everyone.

Another view: when does upgrading make sense?

Keeping FC 26 will not suit everyone. If you have tried FC 27, enjoy a new mode and have friends moving over with you, those benefits may matter more than the fact that the old game still works. Weigh them against your budget and the time you actually have to play, rather than simply counting new features.

What should PC players check first?

The Steam edition requires an EA account, the EA app and an internet connection, and uses Denuvo. Vietnamese is not among the supported languages. Check those requirements before buying, especially if you plan to install it on a different PC from the one you use for FC 26.

Steam's minimum requirements include 8 GB RAM, a GTX 1050 Ti or RX 570, and 100 GB of free storage. The recommended requirements include 12 GB RAM, a GTX 1660 or RX 5600 XT, and an SSD. These are only part of the requirements and do not guarantee performance on every PC. Check the processor and full specifications on Steam, then use the trial to test your setup.

Conclusion: upgrade now or keep playing FC 26?

If FC 26 still meets your needs for matches with friends and you cannot identify a new feature you want, staying with it is reasonable. If a Career change or new mode interests you, try that specific part before deciding to buy.

Lite is a free starting point for comparing the match experience. For Career or Ultimate Team, weigh the cost of EA Play against its 10-hour Standard Edition trial. Then choose Standard or Ultimate based on the extras you will use. If you would rather wait for a sale, follow the store price instead of treating a comment about Christmas discounts as a confirmed promotion schedule.
