OtaHub's take
It is set in modern cities where players investigate anomalies and supernatural incidents. The first city, Nova City, is inspired by Tokyo, and the second, Lingyun, draws on Shanghai and Hangzhou. You get around by running, climbing, parkour and swinging between buildings, or by car, motorcycle and skateboard. A squad of four characters can be swapped mid-fight. RPG Site's coverage mentions more than 100 NPCs with their own stories, roles such as hacker or delivery rider, and activities in cafes, arcades and hot springs.
The game has gathered more than 17 million pre-registrations across 110 countries and regions. The developers have confirmed there is no character gacha, and monetisation is expected to focus on outfits, vehicles and homes. The sources have not published detailed PC specs or a roadmap for later cities.
Verdict
this suits players who like urban open worlds with free traversal and everyday activities, in the vein of Spider-Man crossed with Persona, especially those wary of gacha. Confirmed are the release date, the four platforms and the free-to-play model without character gacha. Still unknown are the hardware requirements, how much content is there at launch and how cosmetic sales will work.
