Overview
Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2 is the second volume in Konami's programme of reviving the Metal Gear titles, released on 27 August 2026 on PC (Steam), PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch and Switch 2. It is priced at 49.99 USD, in both physical and digital editions.
OtaHub's take
The biggest draw is Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots. The finale of Solid Snake's story launched in 2008 and for a long time remained a PS3 exclusive; it now appears off PlayStation hardware for the first time. The collection also includes the HD version of Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker with online co-op for up to six players, whose recruitment and Mother Base mechanics laid the groundwork for Metal Gear Solid V.
The pack also adds Metal Gear: Ghost Babel as bonus content, along with Digital Soundtrack Vol. 2 and a digital screenplay and master book. According to OtaHub, the timing lands while the community is still debating the series' future after the Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater remake.
Verdict
The collection is for longtime fans who want MGS4 on modern hardware, and for anyone who never owned a PS3 and wants to see Old Snake's ending. The price for two main games plus extras is easy to accept.
