Overview
Petit Planet is a life simulation developed by miHoYo and published worldwide by HoYoverse. You work for a company called Loomi Co., accompanied by three anthropomorphic animal companions, with the goal of developing a small planetoid and exploring the galaxy around it. The game was announced on 25 September 2025, and the press often describes it as Animal Crossing meets The Little Prince.
OtaHub's take
The pace is relaxed: decorating, crafting, gathering, farming, fishing, cooking and befriending NPCs as a Planet Tender. Progress centres on the Luca Arbor tree at the heart of the planet. The more Luca resources you pour into it, the more new areas, creatures and environmental changes unlock. Characters are deeply customisable, and the game runs in real time, so some goals take several days.
The game is free to play and comes to PC, iOS and Android with cross-progression between platforms. Pre-registration is open on the App Store, Google Play and the Epic Games Store, with rewards. It has gone through two closed betas, on 7 November 2025 and 21 April 2026, and a final beta began on 20 September 2026. HoYoverse has only said it launches in winter 2026, with no specific date announced.
Verdict
this suits players who enjoy the slow rhythm of Animal Crossing or Stardew Valley and want to continue across devices. Confirmed are the launch season, the three platforms, the free-to-play model and cross-progression. Still unknown are the release date, how in-game items will be sold and the PC requirements, so keep an eye on updates before planning your playtime.
