Overview

Star Wars Zero Company is a single-player, turn-based tactics game developed by Bit Reactor with support from Respawn Entertainment and published by EA. It launched on 27 August 2026 on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. It is set in the twilight of the Clone Wars, in 19 BBY, viewing the conflict from the edges rather than through the Jedi or Republic generals.

OtaHub's take

You play Tesh Hawks, who commands Zero Company, an independent mercenary outfit of people from across the galaxy. The enemy is the Infinite Coil, a Separatist-aligned cult spreading a mysterious plague: survivors grow stronger but easier to manipulate. Your squad mixes soldiers you create yourself with characters from the story.

The gameplay resembles modern XCOM: turn-based combat from a top-down view with limited action points, and fallen squad members are gone for good in the story. Between missions you manage a base, research, upgrades and investigations. You can also build custom astromech droids for support. The studio includes veterans who previously worked at Firaxis.

Verdict

Suits turn-based tactics fans who want a Star Wars project that is not a shooter or action game, and players who like squads whose relationships affect the battlefield.
