Official information page of Skip and Loafer just released the teaser trailer for Season 2, confirmed that the anime will officially air from April 2027. The teaser recreates the peaceful school days of Mitsumi, Sousuke and their friends, true to the warm slice-of-life spirit that made Season 1 famous.
P.A.Works and director Kotomi Deai return
Studio P.A.Works continue to undertake production, with Kotomi Deai (each director The Rolling Girls, Silver Spoon Season 2) serves as director and overall writer. Yoko Yonaiyama, co-writer of Season 1, returned to write the script. Visually, Manami Umeshita continues to be character designer and animation co-director, along with Mio Fujishima in charge of designing supporting characters. The main animator crew added three new faces: Sara Sakoe, Hiroyuki Honda and Chieko Sato.
Familiar voice cast
Tomoyo Kurosawa continues to voice female lead Mitsumi Iwakura, along Akinori Egoshi as Sousuke Shima. Season 1 aired in 2023 and was highly appreciated by critics and audiences for its realistic and sophisticated depiction of adolescence and school friendship, one of the most popular slice-of-life series in recent times.
About the original work
Skip and Loafer is adapted from the author's manga of the same name Misaki Takamatsu, serialized in Monthly Afternoon magazine (Kodansha) since 2018, has released 13 episodes as of April 2026. Seven Seas Entertainment describes the story as follows: Mitsumi, a bright and academically gifted girl from a small town, is about to enter high school in Tokyo but is realizing she is completely unprepared for the social norms of big-city students.
