Year-end sale season is here. The Steam Autumn Sale 2026 runs until October 8 at 10 a.m. Pacific, and as always, the Steam front page is full of 70–95% discounts that can drain a wallet fast. Instead of repeating someone else’s list, OtaHub opened the Steam store in both the US and Vietnam, checked real prices for 25 games worth buying, and added player ratings plus a few traps to avoid.

Under $3: cheaper than a coffee
This is the group to grab first: games that have proven themselves over years and now cost a few dollars.
Ori and the Will of the Wisps: $2.99 (90% off)
One of the most beautiful metroidvanias ever made, from Moon Studios. You guide the spirit Ori through the forests of Niwen, jumping, fighting and probably crying at the story. Over 148,000 Steam reviews at 96% positive, and at $2.99 there is almost no reason to skip it.

Death’s Door: $1.99 (90% off)
You play a crow whose job is reaping souls. Acid Nerve’s top-down action game runs about 10 hours, is challenging without being cruel, and is both funny and a little sad. Great if you like Hades or classic Zelda.
Mad Max: $2.99 (85% off)
Avalanche Studios’ 2015 open-world game, best known for its desert car combat. Worth noting: Mad Max belongs to Warner Bros. Games, a division with an uncertain future now that Paramount and Warner Bros. are merging as Skydance.
Costume Quest, Gunpoint, Solasta and two Ubisoft games
- Costume Quest ($1.99): Double Fine’s gentle RPG about kids trick-or-treating on Halloween night, right on schedule.
- Gunpoint ($2.49): a very clever stealth puzzle game from the same team behind Tactical Breach Wizards below. 97% positive.
- Solasta: Crown of the Magister ($2.99): a tactical RPG built on Dungeons & Dragons 5E rules, ideal if you have already worn out Baldur’s Gate 3.
- The Division 2 ($2.99) and Watch Dogs 2 ($2.49): two Ubisoft games at 90–95% off. Both require a Ubisoft Connect account.
Big games with the deepest cuts
Final Fantasy VII Rebirth: $14.99 (70% off)
The middle chapter of the Final Fantasy VII remake trilogy, a huge world with dozens of hours of side content. At $14.99 (357,000 VND in Vietnam, down from 1,190,000 VND), this is OtaHub’s pick for best value of the sale. Its Steam rating sits at Mostly Positive (74%), lower than most games here, so it is worth reading a few recent reviews first. The final part has just been revealed as Final Fantasy VII Revelation, which makes now a good time to catch up.

Street Fighter 6: $15.99 (60% off)
GameSpot calls it the best fighting game of the current PC and console generation, with a World Tour mode for newcomers and modern controls that are easy to pick up. Over 80,000 reviews, 81% positive.
Far Cry 6 and Tempest Rising
- Far Cry 6 ($5.99, 90% off): not the best Far Cry, but $5.99 for a huge tropical open world is hard to argue with. Requires Ubisoft Connect.
- Tempest Rising ($19.99, 50% off): a real-time strategy game in the spirit of classic Command & Conquer.
For JRPG and anime fans
The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy: $48.99 (30% off)
Developed by Too Kyo Games and Media.Vision and published by Aniplex, with a script by Kazutaka Kodaka (Danganronpa) and Kotaro Uchikoshi (Zero Escape). It mixes visual novel storytelling with turn-based tactics and has a huge branching structure. A 30% cut is not deep, but Danganronpa fans should not wait.

Final Fantasy Tactics: The Ivalice Chronicles: $29.99 (40% off)
A remake of one of the most beloved tactics games ever, released on September 30, 2025, with new quality-of-life features and a refined translation. Still pricey after the discount, so it suits players who already know they love the genre.
Rez Infinite and TMNT: Splintered Fate
- Rez Infinite ($7.49, 70% off): Tetsuya Mizuguchi’s musical on-rails shooter, a rare euphoric experience. Short, but endlessly replayable.
- Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Splintered Fate ($7.49, 75% off): a Hades-style roguelike with the four turtles, playable in co-op.
Great indies with smaller discounts
Indies usually get smaller cuts, but this group has the highest ratings on the list.
- Tactical Breach Wizards ($10.99, 45% off): turn-based tactics with special-ops wizards, great dialogue and plenty of enemies thrown out of windows. 97% positive from more than 12,000 reviews.
- Iron Nest: Heavy Turret Simulator ($14.99, 25% off): operate a heavy artillery turret by hand, lever by lever. Sounds dry, yet 97% of players love it.
- Retro Rewind ($13.93, 30% off): run a 1990s video rental store. 95% positive.
- Blue Prince ($17.99, 40% off): a roguelike puzzle game set in a mansion whose rooms change every day.
- Absolum ($18.74, 25% off): an arcade beat-’em-up with roguelike progression, from Dotemu and Guard Crush, the team behind Streets of Rage 4.
- Meccha Chameleon ($4.19), Level Devil ($4.89), Big Hops Together ($12.99): three fun picks for playing with friends or in short bursts.
- Observation ($6.24, 75% off): a slow-burn sci-fi thriller where you play a space station’s AI.

Two deals players in Vietnam cannot easily get
International deal lists include Death Stranding 2: On the Beach (20% off, $55.99) and LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight (30% off, $48.99). When OtaHub checked, neither showed a price on the Vietnam Steam store. If you find cheap keys on third-party key stores, read the region terms carefully, as region-locked keys may not activate in Vietnam. Curious whether Death Stranding 2 is worth the wait? See OtaHub’s Death Stranding 2 review.

Steam sale tips
- Mind the deadline: the sale ends at 10 a.m. Pacific on October 8, which is midnight in Vietnam.
- Use your wishlist: Steam will notify you when a wishlisted game goes on sale, including in future events.
- Use the refund policy: if a game does not click and you have played under 2 hours, you can request a refund within 14 days.
- Do not buy for the percentage: 95% off a game you will never open is still money lost. OtaHub looked at this in should you buy $70–80 games.
OtaHub’s take
If we could only pick three, OtaHub would take Final Fantasy VII Rebirth for a price never seen before on an RPG this size, Ori and the Will of the Wisps because $2.99 for a metroidvania masterpiece is absurd, and Tactical Breach Wizards for anyone who wants something different. Three games for under $30.
The more interesting story is the price gap. Thanks to Steam’s regional pricing, players in Vietnam pay 25,000 VND for Ori while US players pay $2.99. But regional stores have a downside too: some big releases like Death Stranding 2 are simply not sold there. Before trusting any deal list, open Steam with your own account and check the real price.
