Princess Knight: the work that gave birth to an entire genre

Princess Knight's significance to the manga industry can hardly be overstated. Considered a manga series gave birth to the shoujo genre and laying the foundation for all subsequent transformation segments of magical female warriors (magical girl), the original work tells the story of Sapphire, a princess born with both a male and a female heart, forced to disguise herself as a prince to maintain her throne. Plot: Sapphire and the Ribbon Hero crown

Movie follows Sapphire, princess of the fallen kingdom of Silverland. After the disaster named Nergal Having reduced her homeland to ashes, Sapphire wanders in despair until she finds refuge among the people of Goldland. When the destructive forces of Nergal return to threaten her new home, Sapphire takes up her sword, using the mystical ribbon transformation to gain the strength needed to fight and protect those around her, thus giving rise to the name "Ribbon Hero".

The production crew and the director's gratitude

The Ribbon Hero is the director's first feature-length film Yuki Igarashi, produced by anime studio OUTLINE headed by himself, in cooperation with Twin Engine. Character design by Kei Mochizuki (Fate/Grand Order, Touken Ranbu), with collaboration on character ideas from Mai Yoneyama (Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, LAZARUS), a diverse mix of crew from many different areas of the anime and gaming industry.

Netflix has announced the full Japanese voice cast for the film, combining veteran faces and rising young talent:
