Zenless Zone Zero 3.3: how do Phoenix and Severian differ?
Phoenix specialises in Anomaly damage, which comes from building up attribute effects on enemies. Her kit allows that damage to critically hit targets affected by her special effect. She can also revive with full health after taking a fatal hit.
Severian is a Wind Attack Agent. He can automatically dodge and counterattack, while successful dodges or certain skills build energy for stronger slash sequences. HoYoverse’s announcement places Phoenix in the first half of the update and Severian in the second.

Where do the combat mechs appear?
In the new main story, Lindverne creates mechs for the player character to pilot while infiltrating enemy territory. They switch between melee and ranged attacks.
An EX Special Attack, an enhanced special move, or a dodge opens up a stronger laser attack. Environmental objects also help with combat and puzzles. Mechs are story gameplay rather than a new type of recruitable Agent.
What events and rewards are coming?
HoYoverse announced Halloween activities and a haunted-house VR game. Rewards include outfits, an A-Rank W-Engine, equipment that strengthens an Agent, and accessories for the player character.
Login events award 10 Encrypted Master Tapes for limited Agent searches and 10 Boopons for Bangboo searches. Version 3.3 also tests team recommendations and adds control guides for some Agents.
Are Kafka and Robin part of version 3.3?
The preview also teased Kafka and Robin from Honkai: Star Rail for the games’ crossover. GosuGamers reports that the collaboration is coming in version 3.4. They are separate from version 3.3’s new Agent pair, Phoenix and Severian.
The preview does not establish their abilities or suitable teams. Their individual release dates still need a separate announcement.

OtaHub’s take
Mechs are worth trying if you want a different combat style alongside the usual Agent switching. For Phoenix and Severian, trial stages should help you judge their controls and how they fit the characters you already own.
If you are saving for Kafka or Robin, wait for their individual schedules before budgeting pulls. A crossover preview is not enough to compare their value with the version 3.3 Agents.

The new version 3.3 Agents are Phoenix and Severian. Kafka and Robin belong to the crossover previewed for a later update.
