Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 arrived on Netflix on October 20 with a new story about people trying to survive in Night City.
Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 tells a standalone story
The 10-episode anime returns to the world of Cyberpunk 2077. However, it follows a different group of characters rather than continuing the first crew’s journey. Viewers can start here without watching the previous installment.
Netflix describes a story about redemption and revenge. A new voice cast and a refreshed animation style also give this return to Night City its own identity.
Meet Weak and D
Weak was once a celebrated mercenary known as King. Now living without cybernetic implants, he is searching for a purpose after his glory days have passed.
Meanwhile, D is a network specialist from the Snake Nation nomads. His search for the person who killed his clan draws him toward corporate secrets.
They are joined by Roman Carax, a young film enthusiast documenting life in Night City. Talia comes from a corporate background but has been shaped by the Maelstrom gang.

TRIGGER and CD PROJEKT RED return
Kai Ikarashi directs, with Kanno Ichigo as lead character designer. Bartosz Sztybor and Masahiko Otsuka return to help shape the story.
A familiar setting with a different cast gives newcomers an accessible starting point. For returning viewers, the appeal lies in seeing other lives within the same city rather than simply extending the previous story.
Watch on Netflix
The anime launched exclusively on Netflix on October 20, 2026. Check the title through your account for available subtitles and audio options.
