LEGO has officially launched the Donkey Kong Arcade set, number 72051, on August 1, 2026 for $199.99, featuring 1,367 pieces that recreate the original 1981 Donkey Kong arcade cabinet in detail.

This is an adult-targeted (18+) set, and its standout feature is a fully mechanical interactive build that requires no screen: a wooden barrel rolls down when the crank is turned, and a joystick mimics Mario’s movement from the original stage. The cabinet design accurately recreates the classic arcade unit’s proportions, complete with details like the original advertising artwork and control panel.
The Donkey Kong Arcade set continues LEGO’s line of sets based on classic Nintendo video games, following pieces like the NES set that similarly combine physical building with interactive, playable elements rather than a real screen. This product line mainly targets adult collectors drawn by nostalgia rather than children.
The set opened for preorder ahead of its official launch and is now available at LEGO stores and authorized retailers. You can find more on our latest news and Gaming pages.
