The trailer and key visual were presented by Crunchyroll at New York Comic Con. The most notable piece is the opening “Ecstatic Buffer”: LiSA sings it, while TK, lead of the band Ling Tosite Sigure, wrote the lyrics, composed the music and arranged it.
On the cast side, Reiji Kawashima voices Wim Strauss, Hana Hishikawa voices Heidemarie, Akeno Watanabe voices Camilla, Masaaki Mizunaka voices Chronos and Wakana Kuramochi voices Rita Heinkes. Three newcomers were announced: Haruki Ishiya (Abel, a young member of Nachtlibelle’s shield unit), Atsushi Ono (Mark, a veteran fighter in the shield unit) and Yui Ishikawa (Monica, a girl in Nachtlibelle’s mage unit).
Who is making the anime?
J.C. Staff animates, Hideki Okamoto directs and Takao Yoshioka writes the series scripts. Yu Murakami designs the characters from Eiri Shirai’s original illustrations. Yoshikazu Iwanami is sound director, and music is by Yūki Hayashi, Luke Standridge and Asa Taylor. The anime adapts the light novel by Haka Tokura (serialized on Shōsetsuka ni Narō from November 2020) and the manga by Arakawa.
