Capcom’s Monster Hunter Wilds launched on February 28, 2025. There is no “fall 2026 update” as some earlier articles described; the actual content milestones are as follows.
Title Update 4 (December 2025)
- Brings back Gogmazios, the Elder Dragon from Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate
- Adds the Transcendence mechanic and performance improvements
- Special quests for up to 4 hunters with 4 support hunters
Ascendance expansion (2027)
The Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance expansion was announced at Summer Game Fest on June 5, 2026 and shown further at Tokyo Game Show 2026 by producer Ryozo Tsujimoto and director Takuro Hiraoka. It includes the return of Elder Dragon Teostra, a story built around the return of Lao-Shan Lung, and Master Rank content. Ascendance launches in 2027 on PS5, Xbox Series and Steam.
