Overview
Absolum is a roguelite beat 'em up made by Dotemu, Guard Crush Games and Supamonks. Playdigious, a company that specialises in adapting games for mobile, publishes the iOS and Android version. The game first launched on PC and console in late 2025, and the mobile release on 5 November 2026 brings it to phones.
OtaHub's take
It is set in the kingdom of Talamh, where Sun King Azra has outlawed magic and enslaved those who practise it. Four heroes have their own movesets: Galandra (human) and Karl (dwarf) are playable from the start, while Brome and Cider are unlockable. After each run you earn new upgrades to push further. Stages are fixed rather than procedurally generated, but the roguelite elements keep each run feeling different. Two-player co-op is supported.
The mobile version has an interface rebuilt for small screens, new touch controls, and Game Center and Google Play achievements. It is a one-time purchase, and no in-app purchases have been mentioned. The iOS price is listed at 8.99 USD or 8.99 GBP, while Android pricing is not yet listed. Pre-orders are open on the App Store and pre-registration is open on Google Play.
Verdict
this suits fans of classic beat 'em ups who like some upgrade progression, and anyone after quick co-op with a friend. Confirmed are the release date, the iOS price and the four heroes. Still unknown are the Android price and how well the touch controls feel, which can only be judged after launch.
