Overview

Ball x Pit is an action roguelite developed by Kenny Sun and Friends and published by Devolver Digital. It launched on 15 October 2025 on PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S and Switch, with the Switch 2 version following on 28 October. The iOS and Android versions arrived on 12 March 2026. The game blends Arkanoid-style brick breaking, dense bullet patterns and base management.

OtaHub's take

In each run, players launch balls at an advancing horde, collect gems to level up and pick more balls or passive stats. The fun lies in combining balls to fuse or evolve them into stronger types, which opens a huge range of builds. Between runs, gathered resources go into constructing buildings for the town and unlocking characters and new content.

According to OtaHub, on 6 August 2026 the developer released The Naturalist, the final free update, on all platforms. It adds two opposing characters: The Ballbearer, which doubles ball slots but gives up passives entirely, and The Hoary Hoarder, which has only two ball slots but twice the passive slots, plus 11 new balls and five new passive stats. The paid expansion Risen Ballbylon is scheduled for 12 November 2026.

Verdict

Ball x Pit suits players who like short, easy-to-pick-up runs with plenty of build depth. It is also a compact choice for anyone wanting a roguelite that plays well on handhelds and phones.
