Ball x Pit has released The Naturalist, its final free content update, across all platforms on August 6, 2026, adding two new characters, 11 new balls, and five new passives.
The two new characters are The Ballbearer, who doubles your ball slots but gives up passive items entirely, and The Hoary Hoarder, who only has two ball slots but doubles passive slots instead. The pair offer opposing playstyles that significantly expand the game’s build variety.
On the weapons side, the new Armageddon ball summons a ferocious meteor shower, while the Drill ball impales enemies from behind. Among the new passives, the Remote Detonator spawns bomb balls from defeated enemies, and the Platinum Dumbbell boosts ball damage until they collide with the back wall.
Ball x Pit is currently available on PC, PS5, Nintendo Switch 2, and mobile. The developer has confirmed The Naturalist is the game’s final free update, closing out a free content cycle that steadily expanded the award-winning roguelite since launch.
