Overview
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 is the next entry in the Modern Warfare line, developed by Infinity Ward and published by Activision. Announced in May 2026, it is due on 23 October 2026 on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2. It is the first Call of Duty to launch simultaneously on a Nintendo system, and there is no Xbox One version.
OtaHub's take
The campaign is set during a global crisis as North Korea launches a large-scale invasion of South Korea. The story has two leads: Private Park, a young South Korean soldier in his first battle on a collapsing defensive line, and Captain Price, this time operating outside the official chain of command. The journey moves through trenches in Korea, New York, Paris and SAS night raids in Mumbai.
In multiplayer, the new Collateral mode gives each player one life per round as two teams alternate attacking and defending two bomb sites, buying gear with money earned across rounds. The PC version supports ray tracing in Campaign, Multiplayer and DMZ, along with several upscaling technologies. As OtaHub reported, Xbox let visitors play the Core 6v6 mode at Gamescom 2026.
Verdict
A fit for players following the Modern Warfare storyline and those who enjoy fast multiplayer shooting, especially anyone who wants Call of Duty on Switch 2. Since the game is not out yet, it is best to wait for reviews of the campaign and performance on each platform before pre-ordering.
