OtaHub's take

Charlie was created in a biological science lab, a half-human, half-chimpanzee hybrid known as a Humanzee. Raised by adoptive human parents, he is now 15 and starting high school, where he meets Lucy, a clever loner who becomes his first friend. His normal life is shattered when the animal rights extremists who freed his mother from the lab 15 years ago reemerge as terrorists bent on kidnapping Charlie.

Verdict

A fit for viewers who like science thrillers with a protagonist of unusual origin and ethical questions. This is the first season and the data lists no prequel, so you can start from episode one.
