Overview
Facing the Rain is an adventure RPG made by Peremett-Studio and released on Steam on 8 December 2024. You play Billy, a young woman taking her first job as a hotel maid in the town of Drumberg. The longer she works, the more she notices the gloom hanging over the place and over the hotel's owner, Irma, which opens up stories nobody volunteers to tell.

There is no combat. Instead you walk around the hotel, talk to characters, pick up items and solve small puzzles. Your choices affect how events unfold and lead to several different endings, so a run lasts only around two to three hours but still invites a replay to see the other branches.
Visually it uses 2D top-down pixel art with an original soundtrack, recalling classic JRPGs. As OtaHub describes it, the main themes are loss, depression and compassion. At the end of September 2026 the developer removed the price of roughly 3 USD, making the game permanently free on Steam.
Verdict
Suits players who like short, story-focused games built on exploration, looking for a relaxed weekend experience that costs nothing.
