Overview
Ratchet & Clank: Ranger Rumble is a free-to-play multiplayer hero shooter for iOS and Android. Paris-based Oh Bibi, the studio behind FRAG Pro Shooter, develops it with Insomniac Games involved, and PlayStation is listed as publisher. It was announced in mid-November 2025. The setting is a combat simulation built by Captain Qwark to train new Galactic Ranger recruits, so the series' usual humor carries over.
OtaHub's take
According to Game Informer, the game launches with six modes mixing PvP and PvE, including a battle royale variant and a soccer-inspired contest. The starting roster has 12 heroes. Ratchet and Clank are in, but most are new characters such as Widget, a spunky investigative journalist, and Mopz, a mopey street gang member, from other dimensions. More heroes are planned after launch.
On status, the game has already soft-launched in several non-US regions over recent months. A global release date has not been announced. You can pre-register on the official website for rewards. How the monetization will work in detail has not been spelled out either.
Verdict
this is not the PS5 sequel many fans were hoping for, and it is better to go in knowing that. It suits anyone who likes short team shooters on a phone and wants to see Ratchet & Clank's odd weapons in a different genre. Confirmed: the platforms, the free-to-play model, the six modes and the 12 heroes. Not confirmed: a global date and the economy details.
