Overview
Rematch is Sloclap's online football game, from the studio behind Sifu, released on 19 June 2025. Players control a single footballer from a third-person view and coordinate with teammates in 5v5 matches inside closed arenas with no offsides or throw-ins. The game uses an aim-and-shoot mechanic for striking the ball instead of traditional ball control. The Steam page lists cross-platform play, in-app purchases, Easy Anti-Cheat and 14 languages. Per Wikipedia it drew over 3 million players in its first week and won Sports Game of the Year at the 2026 D.I.C.E. Awards. On Blue Lock, according to OtaHub, the event runs from 24 September to 23 October 2026 with Season 5, featuring the Aura Striker 3v3 mode, a free Event Pass and outfits inspired by Isagi, Rin, Bachira and Nagi, with no change to match stats.
Verdict
Rematch suits players who want a football game built on skill and teamwork rather than league simulation. The Blue Lock event is mostly cosmetic, so fans go in to see it rather than for new gameplay. Steam reviews read Mostly Positive (70%) when checked.
