Overview
Resident Evil Requiem is the ninth mainline Resident Evil, developed and published by Capcom and released on 27 February 2026 on PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2. It is directed by Koshi Nakanishi, who previously led Resident Evil 7. According to OtaHub, the Switch 2 version runs natively rather than through cloud streaming like RE7 and RE8 on Switch.
OtaHub's take
The story takes place around 30 years after Raccoon City was wiped out. Grace Ashcroft, an FBI analyst and the daughter of a reporter who survived the disaster, investigates a series of mysterious deaths at the Wrenwood hotel. She is soon targeted by former Umbrella scientist Victor Gideon because of her unusual immunity, tied to a project called Elpis.
The game alternates between two protagonists: Grace's sections lean toward investigative horror and survival, while Leon S. Kennedy brings a faster, action-driven pace. For the first time in the series, players can freely switch between first and third person throughout the campaign, which runs around 12 hours according to OtaHub.
Verdict
Suits Resident Evil fans who want both horror and action in one game, and newcomers who would like to pick the camera perspective that suits them.
