Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 has just closed out Year 2 of post-launch support with the Confrontation update, and Saber Interactive together with Focus Entertainment have announced the Year 3 roadmap, officially kicking off in September 2026 and running into 2027.
Chaos Siege Mode: Playing As Chaos Outside PvP For The First Time
The biggest highlight of Year 3 is a Chaos-themed version of Siege Mode currently in development, letting players experience the Chaos Space Marines faction in a way that's never been possible outside PvP. This marks the first time the community will be able to fight under the banner of Chaos in a large-scale cooperative mode, rather than only facing off directly against other players as before.
5 Major Updates And A New Class Arriving In Early 2027
Year 3 will include 5 major updates (Patches 15-19), bringing 2 new weapons, 2 new Operation bosses, alongside the Chaos Siege Mode content mentioned above. Most notably, a brand-new playable class (the community's most requested addition) will arrive in the first half of 2027, alongside an exclusive Champion Skin.

Season Pass 3: Space Wolves, Deathwatch, Exorcists
Season Pass 3 will bring new Champion and cosmetic packs for both familiar and first-time Chapters, with three names already confirmed: Space Wolves, Deathwatch and Exorcists. As with previous seasons, most new weapon and mission content will remain free for all players, while the Season Pass focuses on paid Chapter cosmetics and Champion Skins.
What Did Confrontation Bring To Close Out Year 2?
Before moving into Year 3, the Confrontation update closed out Year 2 with 2 new PvP maps (Sanctum and Facility) bringing the total number of Eternal War maps to 7, a new Terminus enemy in the Scarab Occult Terminator Sorcerer from the Thousand Sons, a new Ordeal system with weekly rewards, and 2 cosmetic packs closing out Season Pass 2: the Raptors Cosmetic Pack and Salamanders Champion Pack 2.

With the newly announced Year 3 roadmap, Space Marine 2 continues to be one of the most thoroughly supported live-service titles in the third-person shooter genre today, and this is only the first wave of confirmed content, full details are expected to be revealed gradually across upcoming updates.
