The case kicks off when a homicide victim is discovered clutching a pristine counterfeit of Japan's newly redesigned 10,000-yen banknote. Dubbed "Ultra 30" because it represents the 30th counterfeiting syndicate in national forensic records, the discovery threatens consumer trust across the entire economy, prompting a multi-agency manhunt.

What distinguishes "Case 30 Murder" from standard TV episodes is its grand investigative scope. Following leads from a minting plant in Nagano to printing operations in Osaka, Conan and Kansai detective Heiji Hattori collaborate with beloved regional police officers across Japan:
