Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End Season 3 will take the anime into the Golden Land Arc, one of the most important parts of the manga. The story picks up after the journey of Frieren, Fern and Stark, and shifts its focus to Macht, one of the Seven Sages of Destruction, and to Denken’s past.
The Golden Land and the Arrival of Macht
The Golden Land Arc begins at chapter 81 of the manga and centers on a mysterious region that has been turned to gold.

At the end of Season 2, Denken appears in the Golden Land, which was once his homeland. There he has to face one of the greatest threats in the world of magic: Macht of the Golden Land.
Macht is the last of the Seven Sages of Destruction to be introduced and is presented as the strongest. The character not only wields exceptional power but is also directly tied to the history of the Golden Land.
Denken Takes Center Stage
While earlier arcs mostly revolved around the journey of Frieren, Fern and Stark, the Golden Land Arc in Season 3 gives much more attention to Denken.

Denken must return to the homeland that has been turned to gold and confront the memories and losses of his past. Meanwhile, Frieren is drawn into the story as the party continues its journey through the region.
The Golden Land is therefore more than a clash between mages. The arc also explores Denken’s past, the nature of Macht, and the secrets behind the gilded land.
Frieren Faces a Different Kind of Enemy
Macht is not built simply as an opponent for Frieren to defeat. The story also focuses on how this character views humans, emotions, and the concepts of good and evil.

This adds another dimension to the world of Frieren: the relationship between humans and demons, and the limits of how well they can understand one another. Season 3 will keep exploring these themes through the confrontation between Frieren, Denken and Macht, while expanding the history of the Golden Land.
