There is no PC version, but GTA 6 could be playable on a computer or phone through the cloud, and only on Xbox. That is the news The Verge just reported about GTA 6, though Microsoft, Rockstar and Take-Two have not spoken up. For Vietnamese gamers, this is not good news: Xbox Cloud Gaming is not available in Vietnam.

What did The Verge say?
According to Tom Warren’s article on The Verge on the evening of October 6 (US time), Xbox CEO Asha Sharma told staff at a company-wide meeting that Microsoft is preparing to do something around Grand Theft Auto VI that “no other platform has done”. According to sources familiar with Microsoft’s plans, Xbox has secured exclusive streaming rights to the game.
Specifically, The Verge wrote that “only Xbox Cloud Gaming can stream Grand Theft Auto VI to players at launch, but it is unclear how long the deal lasts”. Microsoft, Rockstar and Take-Two have not confirmed. Some sites wrote that GTA 6 “will be playable on PC”, but that is only true in the sense of streaming through the cloud, not an official PC version.
Play-time caps from November
The timing is notable because Xbox announced on September 3 that, starting in November, the same month GTA 6 launches, cloud play time will be capped: 15 hours a month on Game Pass Ultimate, 10 hours on Premium and 5 hours on Essential. Xbox says the change affects about 4% of Game Pass users, there will be an option to pay for extra hours, and the hours may differ by market.
Can Vietnamese gamers play it?
Not at the moment. Xbox Cloud Gaming is available in 29 countries, including the US, Japan, South Korea, Australia, India and many in Europe and the Americas, but not Vietnam or other Southeast Asian countries. That means if The Verge’s report is right, gamers in Vietnam still need a PS5 or Xbox Series X|S to play GTA 6 at launch.
OtaHub’s take
If true, this is a smart move by Microsoft: turning GTA 6, the most anticipated game of the year, into a reason to subscribe to Game Pass, even for people without a console. But the 15-hour monthly cap makes “playing GTA 6 through the cloud” a poor substitute for owning a console. Until Rockstar or Microsoft confirms, treat this as a report for reference only. Every other key date is on OtaHub’s GTA 6 countdown page.
