Overview
Grand Theft Auto VI is the next main entry in the open-world action series developed and published by Rockstar Games. It is set in the fictional state of Leonida, inspired by Florida, with a Miami-inspired Vice City alongside areas such as the Grassrivers wetlands and the Leonida Keys. Players control two protagonists, Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos; Lucia is the series' first female lead whom players control throughout the story.
OtaHub's take
Rockstar confirmed the game was in development in February 2022. The first trailer arrived on 5 December 2023 set to Tom Petty's Love Is a Long Road, and the second followed on 6 May 2025. The release was delayed twice, from fall 2025 to 26 May 2026 and then to 19 November 2026. On 27 August 2026 an Extended Look of about 26 minutes, captured directly from PS5 gameplay, premiered on Netflix and gave a clearer view of Leonida.
Pre-orders opened on 25 June 2026 in two editions, Standard at 79.99 USD and Ultimate at 99.99 USD, both including the Vintage Vice City Pack, and pre-loading starts on 12 November. At launch GTA VI is only on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, and Rockstar has not yet announced a PC version. OtaHub tracks every milestone of the game, from trailers and release dates to the weather system recreating Florida's climate, on its GTA 6 countdown hub.
Verdict
GTA VI is aimed at players who love large-scale open worlds and cinematic crime stories in the Rockstar style, built around the duo of Jason and Lucia. PC players will have to wait longer, since there is no official announcement yet. Console players should follow information from Rockstar ahead of launch rather than rumours circulating online.
