The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered officially launched on Nintendo Switch 2 on August 11, marking the first time any version of Oblivion has appeared on a Nintendo console.

Bethesda confirmed the release date on June 30 alongside a new live-action trailer. The Switch 2 version costs $49.99 for the standard digital edition, while the $59.99 boxed Deluxe Edition ships with the entire game on the cartridge, with no additional download required. Both editions include the original DLC, including Shivering Isles and Knights of the Nine.

On the technical side, the game renders at 1080p when docked, upscaled via DLSS from a native 960x540, and 900p in handheld mode, upscaled from 800x450, locked to 30 frames per second in both configurations. According to a Digital Foundry breakdown published in mid-August, frame times fluctuate unpredictably between roughly 16ms and 50ms whenever the camera pans or the player moves through busy open-world areas, though handheld mode held up more consistently than docked play for most of the experience. Environmental detail is also scaled back compared with the PC, PS5 and Xbox Series versions.

Despite the stutter in some outdoor areas, early reviews such as Nintendo Life's have called it a solid conversion of one of Bethesda's most beloved RPGs, especially for anyone who wants to explore Cyrodiil on the go. You can find more on our latest news and Gaming pages.
