Some Planet Zoo 2 players on Steam are reporting visual bugs and interface frustrations during the game’s opening days.

Planet Zoo 2 launched on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S on October 13, 2026, adding aquariums and aviaries to its zoo-building simulation. Two days later, most Steam reviews are positive, although specific bug reports deserve attention before buying.

What problems are players reporting?

One negative Steam review describes foliage and construction icons that are too small to identify easily before placing an object. The same player reports incomplete flower rendering and animals clipping through trees and climbing structures.

Bugs also appear in positive recommendations. Another player who recommends the game praises easier path building and decoration while reporting erratic climbing-animal behaviour and problems with Franchise mode. Such interruptions matter in a game built around maintaining and arranging a functioning zoo.

Aquariums, aviaries and easier construction draw praise

The sequel introduces custom freshwater and saltwater aquariums for fully aquatic species. Players can build aviaries from barriers, support poles and mesh covers, while Wildlife Reserves provide places to release animals after meeting conservation project requirements.

Construction tools receive praise in some player reviews. A returning Planet Zoo player highlights easier path building and the Nature Brush as improvements that make habitat creation less laborious. Piece-by-piece construction remains available alongside ready-to-place blueprints.

Early Steam reception remains mostly positive

A Steam review-data check on October 15 recorded 1,568 positive recommendations out of 2,176 reviews, or about 72%, labelled Mostly Positive. The PC version had a Metacritic score of 85/100 from 15 critic reviews.

Steam measures the proportion of players recommending the game, while Metacritic aggregates critic scores, so the figures are not directly comparable. Most Steam reviewers still recommend buying, even when some of their reviews also identify bugs that need fixing. Praise for construction tools and frustration with stability appear together in these early accounts.

Vietnam pricing and PC requirements

The standard edition was listed at 800,000 VND on Steam Vietnam when checked on October 15, 2026. There is no official Vietnamese language support. The game is single-player, with animal trading in Franchise mode rather than real-time cooperative zoo building.

Minimum requirements include 16 GB RAM, an RTX 2060 with 6 GB VRAM or equivalent, and 40 GB of storage. An SSD is recommended for the minimum specification and required for the recommended specification. Prospective PC buyers should compare their hardware with those requirements and examine reports affecting their intended mode, particularly Franchise.
