OtaHub's take
You lead a nation through six eras of history, starting in the nomadic age, on a randomly generated planet. Unlike Civilization, you choose one of ten cultures in each era, 60 cultures in total to combine, each with its own bonuses and penalties. Combat moves to a separate battle map where terrain and unit abilities matter. The winner is decided by Fame points.
After launch the game received the Together We Rule expansion (9 November 2022) and, according to Amplitude, more than 15 major updates over five years, bringing the roster to 86 cultures. The studio announced Humankind 2 on 25 August 2026, planned for 2027. On Steam the game sits at Mixed with about 69% positive across 28,877 reviews, while the 100 most recent reviews (9 September to 9 October 2026) are 77% positive. Its PC Metacritic score is 77/100 (55 reviews). The game has no Vietnamese.
Verdict
Humankind suits 4X fans who want to try building a nation by combining many cultures. Players who love deep war and diplomacy should think twice, because many reviews still call the AI and diplomacy erratic. Waiting for a deep discount is the most sensible way to try it.
