Overview
SNOWBALL EARTH adapts Yuuhirou Tsujiji's manga, is produced by Studio KAI, runs 13 episodes and began airing on 3/4/2026 (the schedule lists 3/4/2026). Tetsuo, a shy boy whose only companion is the giant robot Yukio, becomes a savior alongside it in the fight against galactic monsters from outer space.
OtaHub's take
After the final battle, Tetsuo returns to Earth for the first time in ten years and finds a planet frozen under snow and ice, turned into a deadly world. What happened to the human race, and will he be able to keep his promise to Yukio? The genres are action, mecha and science fiction. Munehisa Sakai directs and Shigeru Murakoshi handles series composition.
Verdict
It suits viewers who like mecha mixed with post-apocalyptic science fiction, with an emphasis on friendship between human and machine. This is the opening part, and a second season is on record as the follow-up.
