Cyanide, who won the first League of Legends World Championship with Fnatic in 2011, has died at 31.

Fnatic announced the news on October 26, 2026, saying Lauri “Cyanide” Happonen had passed away earlier in the year. The organization sent its condolences to his family, friends and everyone whose lives he touched. Its announcement did not state a cause of death.

A place in the first Worlds title

Cyanide was a Finnish jungler who helped Fnatic win the inaugural League of Legends World Championship in 2011, aged just 16.

In its own tribute the same day, LoL Esports recalled that victory and said he remained the youngest player to win Worlds. Fnatic also recognized his four years with the team and the lasting place of his contributions in its history.

OtaHub extends its condolences to Cyanide's family, friends and fans.
