League Classic remains available until January 6, 2027 under Riot’s announced schedule. Before it closes, Classic Pass Act II will be entirely free, while refunds for Classic-only cosmetics depend on the item and how it was acquired.
Riot wants Classic to return but has not set a date
League Classic revisits early League of Legends through an old-style Summoner’s Rift, familiar champion kits, items and rune systems. Season 3 served as its starting point, but Riot selected features from several seasons rather than recreating one historical patch.
Riot says many players enjoyed revisiting that era, but most have since returned to other modes. In lower-population regions, that migration has led to long waits and matches between players with widely differing skill ratings.
The developer’s goal is to bring Classic back, potentially as an event with changes and additions. There is no confirmed return schedule or guarantee, so players wanting to enjoy this run should plan around its announced end.

Act II is free but rewards still require missions
From patch 26.21, Act II has one free reward track across six tiers. Players complete Classic missions to earn Classic Pass Coins, then spend those coins on rewards and progression. Free access does not mean receiving every reward immediately on login.
The three Pass deadlines below are converted to Vietnam time. Progression ends a day before the Pass deactivates.
| Classic Pass Act II milestone | Vietnam time (UTC+7) |
|---|---|
| Starts | 1:00 AM on October 21, 2026 |
| Progression ends | 2:59 PM on January 5, 2027 |
| Pass deactivates | 2:59 PM on January 6, 2027 |
Riot separately lists January 6 as League Classic’s availability end date. The Pass deactivation time is not a separately confirmed mode shutdown time. Champion additions continue through patch 26.23, while the Classic store will contain only champions, runes and rune pages from 26.21.
Vietnam moves to scheduled queue windows
Vietnam is among the regions moving to limited Classic queue hours to concentrate the matchmaking population. Riot lists weekdays from 4 PM to midnight and weekends from 10 AM to 1 AM the following day, all in server time.
Check the client schedule for your server, because the announcement does not give individual regional time zones and windows may change. Classic custom matches remain available at all times in every region while the mode is active.
Which purchases receive RP refunds?
Riot bases refunds on the item and how it was acquired. For Classic Portraits, the listed options are:
- Portraits bought directly in the store receive the RP originally spent.
- Portraits earned through the paid Classic Pass Act I receive 200 RP each.
- The Resplendent Explorer Ezreal Portrait in the Classic Welcome Bundle receives 2,000 RP. That amount covers the Portrait rather than the entire bundle.
- Portraits included in the Collector’s Box receive their attributable value in RP. Players wanting to keep the physical box can request removal of the digital content and a 12,212 RP refund under Riot’s stated option.
The Portrait RP refunds above are due by November 30, 2026. Riot also lists RP refunds for eligible Classic Chromas, including chroma-only purchases and the Classic Annie or Classic Alistar Chromas in the relevant bundles.
What if you want a refund to the original payment method?
Players who bought Classic Pass Act I directly with cash, or the Collector’s Box under Riot’s policy, need to contact Player Support if they prefer a refund to the original payment method. The October 14 notice requests contact within 30 days, separate from the November 30 Portrait RP-credit deadline.
Check the item name and payment details in your transaction history before submitting a request through League Classic support. RP credit and a refund to the original payment method are different options, so a cash refund should not be assumed for every purchase.
