Team Secret Whales lost their decisive series against LOS in the third round of the Worlds 2026 Swiss Stage. The 0–2 defeat against Brazil’s representative ended Whales’ run with three consecutive match losses.
Whales had already lost best-of-one matches to LYON and Invictus Gaming. Their third match used a best-of-three format, requiring two game wins to take the series, but they could not force a deciding game against LOS. They finished without a single game win across their three rounds.
Whales’ Swiss Stage results
Whales entered the Swiss Stage directly and faced opponents from North America, China and Brazil. Their results were:
| Round | Opponent | Whales result | Scheduled start in Vietnam |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | LYON | Lost 0–1 (Bo1) | October 24, 07:00 |
| 2 | Invictus Gaming | Lost 0–1 (Bo1) | October 25, 04:00 |
| 3 | LOS | Lost 0–2 (Bo3) | October 27, 02:00 |
The 0–3 record counts match wins and losses in the stage, rather than the game score of the LOS series. Under the Swiss format, three match wins secure a quarterfinal place and three match losses mean elimination. Whales reached the elimination threshold in round three.

No Vietnamese teams remain at Worlds 2026
Whales were the last Vietnamese team still competing after MVK Esports were eliminated in the Play-In Stage. MVK beat FURIA twice but lost both meetings with Karmine Corp, including the final match for a Swiss Stage berth.
Whales’ elimination brings both Vietnamese teams’ campaigns to an end. LOS continue with a 1–2 record and still need another two series wins to reach the quarterfinals. The Brazilian team next face Team Liquid Alienware at a scheduled 3 a.m. on October 31 in Vietnam.
